Ingredients:

  • 500 grams chicken breast
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon tikka masala spice mix
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tomatoes (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

Step-by-Step Chicken Tikka Masala Preparation:

1. Marinating the Chicken:
Marinating the chicken enhances its flavor. Cut the chicken breast into cubes and place them in a bowl. Add yogurt, lemon juice, grated ginger, minced garlic, tikka masala spice mix, and a teaspoon of salt. Mix well and let the chicken marinate for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight) for tender and flavorful chicken.

2. Cooking the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large pan and fry the marinated chicken until golden brown. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside. While the chicken is cooking, start preparing the sauce.

3. Preparing the Sauce:
In the same pan, add a bit more olive oil and sauté the finely chopped onion until soft. Add the grated tomatoes and tomato paste, cooking for a few minutes. Then, stir in the cumin, turmeric, black pepper, red chili powder, and garam masala. Once the spices are well blended, add the cream and mix. When the sauce thickens, add the cooked chicken back into the pan and stir to coat the chicken in the sauce.

4. Simmer and Serve:
Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, allowing it to absorb all the flavors. Serve the Chicken Tikka Masala hot with rice or naan bread. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves for added flavor.
